What If There Never Was a Christmas?

Dec 19, 2016 | 0 comments

As the song goes, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year…

“There’ll be parties for hosting, marshmallows for toasting, and caroling out in the snow.”

But…what if there never was a Christmas?

I don’t mean the holiday that has become synonymous with maxing out your credit card.

I mean CHRISTmas!

What if God left mankind to hopelessly flounder without direction?

What if God decided to let man wallow in his sin nature and be cut off from Him forever?

What if God never offered us redemption in the form of his Son, Jesus Christ?

Well, thankfully for us, God is love.

He is not vindictive.

He offers us a way out.

Why Jesus is the Only Reason for the Season!

In this matter, Romans 6:23 gets right to the point:

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

God created you to fellowship with Him.

And you can’t be in fellowship while you’re in sin.

He wants you to come back to Him.

As a believer, you truly are a child of God.

But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. (Galatians 4:4-5)

But before that could happen, the sin had to go.

I love how the Apostle Paul puts it in 1 Timothy 1:15:

This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.

Thankfully, we have the birth of Jesus, the man-God, who would be the Light of the World for all.

Obviously, without Jesus, there would be no Christmas.

There would be no reason to celebrate.

There would be no hope of salvation.

There would be no eternity with God for the human race.

But, thanks be to God Almighty, it doesn’t have to be this way.

We have reason to celebrate through Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior!

We have salvation and the promise of eternal life through Him!

We know our sins are forgiven for those who believe in Him!

What Will Your Christmas Be Like This Year?

When you gather this “Christmas,” will it only be to celebrate a holiday, share presents, and have a big dinner with relatives?

Or will it be “all of the above” with Jesus at the head of your table?

Will you celebrate by putting Christ back in Christmas?

I SAY TO YOU, LET US REJOICE!

I am asking you to come and behold Him!

Born the King of angels!

Oh come all ye faithful, and come all ye triumphant!

He came to bring peace on Earth, and good will to men!

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder.

And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)

This is the real reason for the season, and wow, do we have a reason to celebrate!

Do You Want to Have the Best Christmas Ever?

Don’t know Jesus? Want to know Him? Want Him to be part of your life?

Maybe you’re tired of feeling unfulfilled, tired of feeling your life has no purpose.

Maybe He’s been knocking at your door, waiting for you to open it and invite Him in.

Want to participate in the REAL meaning of CHRISTmas?

Prepare your heart.

Talk to God.

I never thought God wanted to hear from me, but He did.

If you truly want a personal relationship with Jesus, I invite you to pray with me:

Jesus, I acknowledge in my heart that You are Lord, that You died for my sins and rose three days later. I truly repent of my sins and ask You to send the Holy Spirit into my life to help guide my path and to help me renew my relationship with my Father.

Jesus, I ask that You break any and all chains that bind me in this world. I want to be bound to You. Today, I am a child of God. Today, I am a part of Your kingdom. Today, I have a reason to celebrate a new life. Thank You, Jesus. I give you all the praise and all the glory. Amen.

If you prayed that prayer and sincerely meant it, you have reason to rejoice this Christmas.

Jesus came that you may have life and have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)

There is power in the name of Jesus.

Pray to Him.

Cast ALL your cares upon Him, for He cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7)

Know that your sins are forgiven, that you are redeemed, that you are a child of God, that you now have a relationship with your Father in heaven, and the promise of eternal life.

I’ve discovered the best CHRISTmas I could ever have is one with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.

To me, Jesus is the best gift anyone can receive in their lifetime.

And this is the message I want to bring you: There is no meaningful life apart from Jesus.

This is what Christmas is all about: The abundant grace, mercy, and love of God, our creator, given to His people through His Son, Jesus Christ.

May God bless you and yours richly this CHRISTmas.
