CCSB served as a collection center sending 8,452 gift-filled shoe boxes to bring joy, hope and the Good News of Jesus Christ to needy children around the world. Over 8 million shoe boxes were delivered worldwide.

Michael’s evangelistic style, clever wit and humor — together with Pam’s contemporary inspirational vocals help to illustrate the relationship between mankind and the Master Potter. A full sanctuary was on hand to witness this experience and hear the Word of God in a very unique and inspiring way.

Gulf Coast Mission
2009
Since 2006, CCSB has sent a team of missionaries to encourage and comfort the hurricane victims in the Gulf Coast. We have co-labored on various outreaches with CC Bay St. Louis, MS. As a result, many heard the gospel.

Baptism
August 2009
Once again the Torrance “Plunge” was overwhelmed last spring with over 100 new believers publicly professing their faith and getting dunked in the name of Jesus Christ.

Senior High Summer Camp
August 2009
Our Junior and Senior High School Summer Camps were held during the month of August, 2009. We were joined by other churches and had various guest speakers share the word of the Lord with the students. Many activities were done throughout the days to encourage the kids in the Lord! It was an awesome time where we all came together and were able to seek the face of our Lord Jesus Christ together as one!

Peru Mission
Summer 2009
Over the summer, a mission team of high school and college students shared the love of Christ in Peru. As they evangelized in three cities, Lima, Chorrillos and Pisco, there were over 50 testimonies of salvation.

Samoa Mission
Summer 2009
Amerika Samoa has been a destination for our mission trips over the past eight years. This year, we were able to provide training teams for their Department of Education and Social Services.

Vacation Bible School
July 13–24, 2009
Vacation Bible School at CCSB introduced children to Jesus through a fun and exciting game show theme. Children ages K-5th grade were contestants on our VBS Game Show! Over 80 children received Jesus into their hearts and were able to share Jesus with their families.

The Message
July 10, 2009
The Message is a special conference event on July 10, 2009 geared for junior high students. The theme focused on “Keeping Your Way Pure” and included a special message by Pastor Andrew Cochran of Calvary Chapel Long Beach.

Call to Fall
July 5, 2009
CCSB joined churches across America to fall on our knees and intercede in prayer for our nation. Believers nationwide humbled themselves before the Lord, prayed for forgiveness of our sins and prayed that God would turn our nation’s heart toward Him.

Backyard Missions
June 26–27, 2009
Go tell it…in your backyard. Over the past several months, the Missions ministry has hosted park and neighborhood outreaches in the city of Carson, Lomita, Long Beach, Harbor City, Torrance, and Wilmington with the message of the Gospel. God has allowed us to use drama, puppets, balloon animals and His love to reach these cities for Christ.

One God, One Voice

One God, One Voice was a special conference event on May 30, 2009 geared for high school and college students. The theme focused on how to be “Committed to One” and included a special message by Pastor Dennis Mascardo and various workshops.

Women’s Retreat Conference
May 15–16, 2009
This year’s Women’s Retreat Conference theme was “Abound in Hope” featuring guest speaker Gisela Yohannan and workshop speakers Mary Stevens and Sherri Youngward. Over 450 women attended the conference.

Baptism
May 2, 2009
Our recent baptism on May 2, 2009 was held at the Victor E. Benstead Plunge in Torrance. Over 80 people made a public confession of their faith and were baptized in the name of Jesus.

Easter Sunrise
April 12, 2009
Our Easter Sunrise Service on April 12, 2009 was held at The Home Depot Center – Tennis Stadium on the campus of California State University Dominguez Hills. Over 4,000 people in the neighboring communites attend this annual event.

Pastors’ Conference
February 16–18, 2009
The Southern California Regional Pastors’ Conference is an annual event where pastors, assisting pastors, church leadership, and spouses come together to be refreshed, renewed, encouraged and challenged in their commitments to fulfill Jesus’ command in reaching the lost and preaching the gospel.

Junior High Winter Camp
January 9–11, 2009
Our Junior High Winter Camp was held at Calvary Chapel Christian Camp in Green Valley Lake. Over 250 youths from various Calvary churches attended. The three day camp included a time of worship, devotions, biblical instruction, workshops, fellowship and fun group activities.
