Beyond
Philippines
Destination: Manila
Sunday, June 6 – Wednesday, June 16
So what country is comprised of over 7,000 islands and speaks over 170 dialects. Well, it’s that group of islands in Southeast Asia called the Philippines. With much diversity in language and culture, there is a greater divide in the Philippines and its economy. The wealthy live side by side with the poor. The affluent in the midst of poverty.
In late September 2009, the capital city of Manila was devastated by Typhoon Ketsana, also known as Ondoy. The streets of Metro Manila were flooded, numerous homes were damaged and countless lives were lost. In response to this disaster, we will be co-laboring with the local churches and a Youth With a Mission facility. We will be ministering to the poverty stricken areas of Manila and neighboring cities, along with meeting the needs of the victims of Typhoon Ondoy.
As much of the country is traditionally Catholic, we will be sharing the Gospel through music, drama, children&rsquos ministry and one-on-one evangelism. Join us as we go beyond our bakcyard and borders to share the Gospel in the Philippines.

The country of American Samoa is a beatiful island rich with culture and religion. On September 29, 2009, this small island in the South Pacific experienced an 8.0 earthquake which initiated a destructive tsunami. As a result, many homes and lives were destroyed. In response to this tratgedy, we sent a team in January 2010 to American Samoa. During the trip, the Lord opened up a door in the area of counseling. Our hope is to train the local churches in the area of Disaster Relief Crisis Counseling.
