Travel back with me to June 1944, to a little-known atrocity of World War II that engulfed the idyllic French town Tulle.

Days after the Allies invaded the French coast of Normandy, orders were given for the brutal 2nd SS Panzer Das Reich Mechanized Division to traverse 400 miles through France to reinforce their German comrades on the coast.

Along the way, these hardcore Nazis used their violent tactics of killing innocent civilians in retaliation for any acts committed by French resistance fighters.

They came to the town of Tulle.

Depending on which report you believe, the town was a staging area used by French resistance fighters who fled, or it offered the Germans no resistance at all.

The soldiers proceeded to round up all the men.

The order was given to hang them from lampposts and balconies all through the town.

The SS soldiers stopped after hanging 98 men.

Why?

Because they ran out of rope.

They couldn’t find enough rope in Tulle to kill every man rounded up.

Will There Be Enough Rope to Hang Christianity?

Putting it in perspective in today’s world, will the enemies of Christ find enough rope to try and hang an entire way of life?

I fear there will always be enough rope, the world over, to hang every God-fearing Christian ideal we hold dear.

Jesus warned His followers of persecution (Mark 13:13) when He said, “And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.”

Jesus also said that even the gates of hell will not prevail against the church. (Matthew 16:18)

But the world presses on in its blind hatred of Christians.

These are “enemies of the cross” as the Apostle Paul writes in Phil. 3:18:

 ^“For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ.”

Will You Stop the Barbarians At the Gates?

Recently a suicide bomber targeting an Easter gathering of Christians in Pakistan killed 70 people.

Syria’s Christians fear total annihilation at the hands of ISIS.

The war against Christianity is not just in the Middle East, Indonesia and other countries with a strong Muslim presence.

It’s not just ISIS and its genocidal cleansing of  ages-old Christian sects from its territories.

But as many of us just watch and wait, the war is growing here in America as well.

The War Is Waged Against God and His Word

Wars are not always waged with swords and guns.

Some “enemies of the cross” use the rope of political correctness or the judicial system to silence Christians.

Atheists, for example, are always looking for more rope.

They have convinced several Veterans Affairs (VA) hospitals and a military base to ban the Bible from “Missing Man” displays (Read more about this on the American Center for Law and Justice website ).

There is always enough rope when the courts allow atheists to file lawsuits demanding that “In God We Trust” be struck from US currency.

More rope: The Bible is on the “Top 10” list of books people want banned from public schools and libraries.

There is always enough rope that allows for the destruction of 10 Commandments monuments in civic centers across America.

There is always enough rope when Christians allow themselves to be silenced at schools and at work (and soon at church as the government threatens to repeal tax-exempt status).

There will always be enough rope so long as Christians allow the courts and liberal judges to hold their religion ransom.

When did it become OK for the godless to tell the godly what to do?

So long as Christians fail to take a stand, the enemy will always find enough rope.

Unless Jesus raptures His church first, the day is coming when we won’t have to wait for the world to try to hang all the Christians.

We will do it ourselves.

How?

By doing nothing.

By standing on the sidelines and watching them do it.

By saying I am just one person, what can I do?

Some are speaking up, such as Jay Sekulow and his American Center of Law and Justice, strong advocates for Christianity.

In a recent address to the United Nations Human Rights Council, his organization demanded that the UN recognize genocide against Christians.

Lo, and behold, Secretary of State John Kerry FINALLY acknowledged the Islamic State is committing genocide against Christians and other minorities in the Middle East.

What does this mean? Legally it’s not binding. The Obama Administration officials noted this designation does “not obligate the United States to take additional action.”

Sad. And so the war continues.

Your Voice and Actions Count

It is imperative that all Christians who can vote not skip the voting process.

There is a big one coming up in November.

It’s the presidency, seen as the most powerful political position in the world.

It is not my position to tell you who to vote for.

The candidates speak for themselves. God has given you free will. You choose.

But if someone is elected who only wishes to erode our Christian values all the more, we only have ourselves to blame if we didn’t vote.

Whether you speak out or not, whether you take a stand or not, you are a target.

Proving, without a shadow of a doubt, that Satan continues to go after the one true God: Jesus Christ, the salvation of mankind, the redeemer of souls, who holds the keys to heaven and earth.

Remember, God has not given us a spirit of timidity but of power and love. (2 Timothy 1:7)

Power and love.

Use these gifts wisely.

Or else we give the “enemies of the cross” enough rope to hang us.
