“So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask Him?” – Matthew 7:11

Holidays and birthdays are always such a great example of how we, as sinners, know how to give good gifts to our children and loved ones.

Even if we don’t have the money for it, we charge it or stand in line for hours ensuring we get the “one day only” sales and the all around best deals.

My 4 yr old son, Landon, is finally at an age where he has the gift getting concept down to a tee.

He knows exactly what he likes and even now suggests we register him on a “wish list” at the toy stores to make sure he gets exactly what he wants :-).

Even though my son is extremely strong-willed, challenges me more than complies, and tends to break every rule on my list, my love and desire to want to bless him at Christmas time and on special holidays does not waver.

When I went shopping for him last month for his birthday, I didn’t get him the broken toys on clearance. I didn’t get him a pink dress, Barbie’s dream house, or something he wouldn’t ever play with.

No, I got my son the good gifts that I knew he’d love.

And that’s exactly what our Father in heaven does with His children too!

Just as we as sinners know how to give good gifts to our children and loved ones, God Almighty knows how to give even better gifts to you and me.

Why God Blesses You

God blesses us, brothers and sisters, not because we’re perfect and keep every single rule in His book.

On the contrary, our Father in heaven blesses us and provides for us simply because He unconditionally loves us.

When you ask God for bread, He will not give you a stone! When you ask God for fish He will not give you a snake! (Matt. 7: 9-10)

Furthermore, when you ask God for a godly spouse, He will not give you someone you’re not going to be blessed beyond belief with!

When you ask God for a car, He’s not going to give you one from the junkyard that doesn’t even start!

Our God is an Awesome God who reigns! He has a perfect will for each and every one of us regardless what it is we’re praying for.

Since we live in such a fast pace and impulsive society, waiting is often the last thing we want to do.  But God’s best for you is well worth the wait!

No matter what you are praying for, know that your God knows the deepest desires of your heart and promises to, in His perfect timing, give them to you as you take delight in Him. (See Psalm 37:4)

Are You Going to Get Everything You Ask For?

In this life we may not always get every single thing we want, but God does promise to give us every single thing we need.

In His sovereignty, God truly does know what is best for us, so if you’ve prayed for something and the Lord has yet to bring it to pass, stay encouraged and don’t settle for His permissive will or second best.

Good things come to those who wait, so let’s choose to continuously and patiently wait on the Lord, be of good courage, and allow Him in His unfailing love and mercy to strengthen our heart! (See Psalm 27:14)

If you are One of God’s children rest assured in knowing that your heavenly Father knows every single prayer you pray, even before you pray it!

He promises to “withhold no good thing from those who walk uprightly(Psalm 84:11) so never lose hope!

Never stop asking, seeking or knocking because God wants nothing more than to bless you exceedingly, abundantly more than you could ever ask, hope or think!

He is mindful of you and everything you’re going through and promises to come through for you.

The answers to all the promises God Almighty has given you in His Word are “Yes and Amen” so rest assured and “Listen!

The LORD’s arm is not too weak to save you, nor is his ear too deaf to hear you call!” (Isaiah 59:1)

You will receive, you will find, and it will be opened for you, so remain steadfast in God’s infallible truth, unwavering in faith, immovable on the Rock of your salvation and confident in your God’s ability to do the impossible in your life.

Bless the Lord your God with all that is within you no matter what He gives you, brothers and sisters, or takes away from you.

Thanks for the WISE information from God’s Word. I guess for at lease three years or longer now, I have given a Prayer to our Heavenly Father. From Andrew Murrary the Blessings Of Obedience: Chapter 8 Blessed Son of God! Here I am. By Your grace, I have given my life to the carring out of Your last great command. Let my life heart be as Your heart. Let my weakness be as Your strenght. In Your name I take the vow of entire and everlasting obedence Amen. Also I am on three years reading Waiting on GOD by Andrew Murray. Lastly in Genesis chapter 18 how our God answered Abraham and Sharah Prayer about having a son. How our God answered Jim Cymbala Prayer about his daughter returning back Home. How our God has answered the Prayers at CCSB, pastor Steve & Gails Prayers not only bring Heather back Home but also blessing her with a new husband. As our God gives me patience as His patient. From the book the Blessing of Obedence chapter 8, Acting On Your Vow OF Obedence: Whatever your circumstances, it is your priviledge to have within reach souls that can won for God. This is one of the reasons for my existence. LOVE servent.

This blog post came at the perfect time for me Amanda. I’ve been struggling with finances wondering if God is truly going to provide. You know what God’s word says but sometimes your mind just takes you to faraway places and you begin to think about these “what if” situations.

But your blog post was very timely because it brought me back to God’s Word. If we being sinners know how to give good gifts to our children, then how much more is our heavenly father going to give us the good gifts that we need. He knows best like you say 🙂

    Thanks for your great post!
