Main Scripture: Luke 23:34

• Father, forgive them for they do not know what they do
  • Forgiveness was on Jesus’ heart, which is why He spoke it with His mouth (Matthew 12:34)
  • He doesn’t ask to be delivered–He asks for us to be forgiven
• There was nothing that would stop Him from dying for our forgiveness
  • He had to be crucified (Isaiah 53:5, Zechariah 12:10)
• We have all wronged God, and He wants us to know He has forgiven us
  • We were His enemy, and He loved us (Luke 6:27, Romans 5:8)
• The criminal on the cross next to Jesus received Jesus’ forgiveness
  • He heard that Jesus saves (Mark 15:26, 31)
  • He responded to the Spirit
  • He recognized His need
  • He prayed for redemption
