Main Scriptures: Mark 11, Romans 4
Date of Message: December 31, 2022
- Mark 11: 20-24
- Our mountains are the insurmountable challenges we face (Zechariah 4:7)
- They can be spiritual, physical, emotional, relational, financial, etc.
- They can be moved by faith today
- Whether something is possible or not depends on your perspective (i.e. Mary’s perspective vs. the angel Gabriel’s perspective in Luke 1:37)
- This is a faith that
- Believes in the Almighty God of the Bible
- Trusts Him as to which mountain is to be moved and which one is to be climbed
- Knows His word and only desires to change the landscape of things that are in His will and of His nature
- Stands on the fact that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever
- Sees the unseen (2 Kings 6:17)
- Our mountains are the insurmountable challenges we face (Zechariah 4:7)
- Romans 4:16b-22
- Abraham is our father of faith (Genesis 15:6)
- Abraham’s faith was founded on what God had spoken (Genesis 12, 13, 15, 17, 18). It wasn’t subjective, but objective
- Mountains are only moved when God says they will be
- Our job is to have faith in God alone
- God will refine out everything that isn’t faith
- Our job is to have faith in God alone
- God’s perspective, according to Romans 4, is that Abraham wasn’t weak in faith or wavering
- He had only had one moment of faith!
- God view of Abraham’s weakness was full of grace
- There is no condemnation for us
- We can forget the things which are behind (Philippians 3:12-14)
- There is no condemnation for us
- God view of Abraham’s weakness was full of grace
- He had only had one moment of faith!
- God changed his identity
- God changed his name from Abram to Abraham (the Father of many) but he had no children yet–imagine the faith to walk in that new identity until it came to pass
- God will always be faithful to His promises
- Have faith in Him in 2023!
- Abraham is our father of faith (Genesis 15:6)
