    • He set his mind on things above despite his chains

  • Paul meditated on how Christ treated him and set it as the standard of our interaction with each other (Matthew 18:21-35)
    • Jesus didn’t consider His condescension from heaven to earth a violation of His rights (1 Corinthians 6:7)
    • Jesus purposely gave up His reputation and power and became a bondservant (a slave by choice out of love for his master)
      • Bondservants are humble and obedient
        • Humility leads to true authority (Luke 14:11)
          • Pride leads to destruction
        • Obedience leads to a reputation of love (John 14:15)
      • Practically, humility and obedience look like
