- Testimonies and reputations are built over time
- I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do (Jesus in John 17:4)
- I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith (Paul in 2 Timothy 4:7)
- Churches have reputations
- The churches in Revelation 2 and 3 had both things that warranted commendation and correction
- Jesus is the Lord of the Church…He’s the one who died for you
- His Church is filled with faith, hope and love (1 Corinthians 13:13, 1 Thessalonians 1:3)
- Faith
- Is hearing the word and taking a step (Romans 10:17)
- Seems risky but the real risk is knowing God’s word and doing nothing with it (Hebrews 11:8, Romans 4:20)
- Hope
- Is a confident expectation (Hebrews 11:6)
- Is an anchor for our souls (Hebrews 6:19)
- Should be lived out (1 Peter 1:3)
- Love
- Is the greatest (1 Corinthians 13:13)
- Looks like obedience (Deuteronomy 10:12-13, John 14:15)
- Is unconditional (Matthew 25:35-40)
- Faith
- His Church is filled with faith, hope and love (1 Corinthians 13:13, 1 Thessalonians 1:3)
