  • Mark is a teacher, and he’s going to teach us how to do the work of the ministry by using Jesus’ ministry as an example (Ephesians 4:11-12)
  • Mark 3:7-12
    • Do the work of the ministry (Fulfill it…2 Timothy 4:5)
      • The activity of the ministry drew more people to be ministered to
        • Jesus
          • used the gift of administration to plan and prepare for ministry
          • wasn’t overwhelmed by the numbers, resentful of their motives or deterred by His enemies
          • put the word of God into action (James 1:22-25)
          • knew demons were real and wouldn’t do the work of the ministry in the way of the world (Matthew 25:41)
  • Mark 3:13-19
    • Raise up disciples to do the work of the ministry
      • Jesus prayed (Matthew 9:37-38) THEN made disciples (Luke 6:12-13)
        • Jesus
          • wanted to make disciples
          • was with them
          • appointed them
          • sent them out to preach
          • empowered them to heal
            • Preaching the Gospel and doing the ministry ALWAYS go hand-in-hand
  • Mark 3:20-30
    • Press on despite the pressure of doing ministry
      • Mark had abandoned ministry and knew this pressure personally
        • There is pressure from loved ones to “protect yourself” and “defend your rights”
        • We need to purpose to stay on the offense and minister even to our enemies
          • He warns in order to save
            • As long as people are alive, there is an opportunity for salvation
  • Mark 3:31-35
    • Make the will of God your priority
      • Jesus has a plan and purpose for the ministry He’s called you to
