  • Mark 11:20-26
    • God’s perspective is that mountains can move—He is the one who put them there in the first place!
      • He is the Creator of the Universe and formed the world with His words
        • We can trust Him and not be afraid
    • Fear is the first peak we may have to conquer
      • The fig tree that Jesus cursed was fruitless
        • Getting rid of the fruitless things in our lives can cause fear
          • The mountain of fear is moved when we love out loud (1 John 4:12-18)
            • Perfected love is the love of God expressing itself in our love to one another (Galatians 5:6)
              • The evidence of great faith is great love
    • Doubt is another peak to conquer
      • Doubt originates from the father of lies (Isaiah 14:12-14) and attacks the truth of God’s word (Genesis 3:1-5)
        • It is a spiritual attack and prevents the fulfillment of God’s promises in our lives
        • Doubt makes us unstable (James 1:6-8)
          • Doubt says “Does the truth of God apply to me?”
        • But God promises wisdom to help us live out His word
          • He will help us when we are drowning in doubt and powerlessness (Matthew 14:31, Mark 9:24)
    • The most challenging peak is often forgiveness
      • Faith in God and fellowship with the family of God go hand-in-hand in our Father’s house (Matthew 5:23-24)
        • To withhold forgiveness is sin because we’ve been forgiven by God (Psalm 66:18)
        • We may need to say “I’m sorry,” “I forgive you” or “I was wrong” in order to move mountains by faith
  • Selah Memory Verse: Mark 11:22b Have faith in God.
  • Challenge to Change: Move mountains this year by your faith expressed through love.
