- Israel was called to fight their battles empowered by the Spirit
- What is the work that we are called to do?
- Preach the Gospel and make disciples
- What is the work that we are called to do?
- Work was a part of perfection in the Garden
- Our temptations are to avoid work or to work for personal benefit or show
- But work is a part of God’s plan (Luke 12:19, Zephaniah 3:16)
- Going to work for the Gospel means that you are going to war against the enemy
- If you aren’t at war, you may not be at work
- But we are commanded to fight the good fight and be brave (1 Timothy 6:12,1 Corinthians 16:13)
- If you aren’t at war, you may not be at work
- Joshua is inspiring the nation to get to work (Joshua 17)
- Reward the faithful (v. 1-2)
- Be faithful with a little, and you will be rewarded with more responsibility (Matthew 25:29)
- Work is satisfying for our souls (John 4:24)
