- Proven character of humility, servanthood and sacrifice (2 Timothy 3:10-12)
- Persecution allows character to be displayed in our lives
- Servants aren’t entitled but willing (Luke 17:9-10)
- Steadfast in obedience despite trial because of God’s love
- Epaphroditus, the sacrificially obedient
- Steadfast in obedience despite his personal distress
- Not regarding his own life (Luke 9:23-24, Galatians 2:20)
