- Zechariah 1-6: to inspire the nation to rebuild the temple
- Zechariah 7-8: God answers a theology question about fasting
- Zechariah 9-14: the ministry of Jesus in His first and second coming
- For His first coming, everything came to pass
- We anticipate everything for His second coming
- Though the visions are about Israel, these visions are encouraging to the church
- Eight visions
- 1-3
- Horses: God was working behind the scenes to provide the environment to do the work
- Horns: God brought down the enemies against His people
- Measuring Line: God will protect you so that you can accomplish the work He has called you to do to glorify Him
- 4-5
- Joshua: God will redeem our broken lives by His grace
- Zerubbabel: God will empower us by His Spirit to do the work
- 6-8
- Flying Scroll: God will point out areas in our life that need to be purified as we do the work
- God is concerned about holiness, not our happiness
- Zechariah 5:3 – this vision was for the whole earth – that God will judge the entire world
- Woman in the basket: God will not allow the way of the world to represent the way of the WORD (materialism, commercialism)
- Nehemiah 5:1-3 – the people were taking advantage of their own brethren and selling each other into slavery
- For the sake of financial gain
- God brings down ministries when it is all about money
- Zechariah 5:10-11 – people began worshiping their possessions
- They were materialistic
- What are we prone to worship?
- This vision is also speaking of the rapture and the second coming of Christ
- Revelation 6:6 – war ensues
- Revelation 13:16-18 speaks of the antichrist and mark of the beast
- Control of the worldwide economy
- Revelation 18 – the end of the tribulation
- Revelation 16: 9,11 – people were so upset with God taking away their money, materialism and commercialism, that they raised their first towards God
- Nehemiah 5:1-3 – the people were taking advantage of their own brethren and selling each other into slavery

- God can do what He said He could do
- The Mountain
- Four Horses: winds of heaven
- Zechariah 1:15 – God used the nations to discipline Israel, but they afflicted Israel with evil intent to destroy it
- These horses are seen again in Revelation 6
- At the end of the seven year tribulation is the battle of Armageddon–where God wins
- Zechariah 6:9-12
- Zechariah was going to receive a gift from people coming back from Babylon
- He was to receive it and make a crown out of it
- Zechariah 6:12-15
- This is a symbol of the rule and reign of Jesus after the seven year tribulation
- He was a King and Priest
