We thank God for you and your faithfulness in giving so generously to this ministry. Through your financial gifts, tithes
Here are a few highlights of how God used your faithfulness at Calvary Chapel South Bay in 2018
The Lor again blessed the teaching of His word and the preaching of the good news of the Gospel as we saw hundreds of first-time decisions to follow Christ throughout the year from our main services in the sanctuary. A vast majority of those new believers were baptized at one of our three baptisms held here on campus in our courtyard area. CCSB grew in both attendance and overall giving in 2018—and financially we ended the year with balanced books, positive cash flow, increased reserve savings, reduced mortgage debt and more resources in the bank than we started the year with—truly God was very good.
In fulfillment of our Lord’s commission, we reached out to various communities in our own “backyard.” We shared the Gospel in the communities that surround us such as Carson, Redondo Beach, Gardena, Torrance, San Pedro, Wilmington, Long Beach, Watts, Hollywood, and both downtown and South Los Angeles.
As we reached across our southern border into Mexico, we had multiple weeklong teams that went to Sinaloa, Maneadero, Acapulco, Mazatlán, Michoacán, Tijuana and Ensenada. In order to better serve our multigenerational Spanish-speaking brothers and sisters and their families, we also saw our Spanish services here at CCSB grow and prosper. We even had our first ever, Spanish Men’s Retreat.
In our effort to reach out to the rest of the world, we reinforced our ongoing work and started many new ones, in faraway places including Liberia, Uganda, Philippines, China, Hong Kong, India, Thailand, Colombia, Belize, El Salvador, Peru, Nicaragua
In addition to our global churches, we send monthly financial support to four churches in our own backyard— Pastor Randolph Ochoa in Venice, Pastor Jose Hernandez in Watts, Pastor Bill Buffington in Inglewood and Pastor Don Modglin in Ventura.
We also planned, paid for and hosted Pastor’s Conferences in El Salvador, Colombia
We moved our Easter Sunrise service back on-site to our campus here at CCSB from the StubHub Center, saving over $60,000 in final costs. We had an amazing turnout exceeding 10,000 people on-site for our four Easter services last year.
For Easter 2019, we are delighted to announce we have contracted guest worship by Christian recording artists Big Daddy Weave.
As we begin the new year, we are excited to see how God will bless the ministry opportunities that He has given us. We will continue to teach His magnificent word from every place and pulpit, expanding the reach of our Missions, Women’s, Men’s, High School, Junior High, Children’s, Homeless, Prison and other ministries, which all saw great growth in 2018. We will also set out to further utilize digital technology and social media. This year we have seen exponential growth in the number of people engaging with us via our Livestream of our church services and social media posts on Facebook, Instagram
These things are simply a representation of how the Lord has worked in this last year, but by no means all of the things we were able to accomplish—that would be a small book. So we encourage you to get involved personally with some area of ministry. Please check out our website www.ccsouthbay.org or catch us on Instagram #ccsouthbay to see all the places that you can become more involved—especially with our Missions Ministry as we “Pray, Serve, Send and Go”—to our “Backyard, Borders and Beyond!”
We are excited about expanding our current outreaches into new territories and countries, supporting other churches, and possibly getting more involved with soup kitchens to help the homeless and the lost in our own backyard.
Here at our church home, we have been working on a new color concept for the exterior of our campus which we hope to get done in 2019. New digital interior signage is in the works that will replace the old signage to help our church family locate rooms more efficiently. Plans are also in the works for renovating the remaining interior of our main sanctuary, as well as other parts of the campus.
Our desire is to make Calvary Chapel South Bay your second home—a place to hang out with your brothers and sisters in Christ—a place where we can all experience the love of God and His blessings upon our lives.
It is your faithful giving that makes it possible for us to carry out the work that God has called us to do—to get His Word out. We thank God for you and pray that He will continue to provide abundantly for all your needs in Christ Jesus.
In His Love,

Pastor Jeff and the Board of Directors
