Instructions For Every Christian to Do When Things Go Wrong

May 13, 2013 | 9 comments

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33

Have you ever had one of the those days where everything that could go wrong actually does go wrong?

Do you ever feel like the entire world you’re carrying on your shoulders is falling apart?

In this life we will have times of great suffering, brothers and sisters, but I want you to remember one thing: Jesus Christ has overcome this world.

Jesus Christ sympathizes with you because He has walked through the fire too!

He was persecuted, afflicted, mocked, tempted by the enemy, tortured, and even killed, but He remained sinless and accomplished the purpose for which He came.

His death and willing sacrifice enabled for you, me, and all those who believe in Him to have everlasting life.

Even though we too will step into the furnace of affliction, even though we too will experience seasons of pain, even though life here on earth will never be perfect, as sons and daughters of the most High King we can rest assured in knowing that “one day all of our tears will be wiped away”. (Rev. 21:4)

One day we will rise to spend all eternity with the creator of it so stay encouraged no matter what the enemy throws your way!

What To Do When Things Go Wrong

Counteract Satan’s lies by hanging on to God’s infallible truth. Stand on the promises God gives you and keep your eyes fixed on the One who made you.

Remember, brothers and sisters, that this fallen world is not your forever home and that you are not running this spiritual race all alone.

The enemy may be strong, but never forget that our God is stronger

Key Takeaway

Everything you’re going through right now, whether it’s good or bad, is for a distinct purpose.

As a believer, if it has passed through God’s almighty hands then He has a distinct reason for it.

Romans 8:28 assures us, “…all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose!”

So stay encouraged, our God is faithful and His Words are true!

No matter what you’re currently going through, take heart in knowing that you are not going through it all alone.

Take heart in knowing that God’s almighty hands are not only holding the entire world; they are also holding your broken and contrite heart.

Take heart in knowing that your Savior does promise to rescue you and “will perfect that which concerns you”. (Ps. 138:8)

The Lord your God does have a distinct purpose for which He created you, and will one day “complete the good work He first began in you”. (Phil. 1:6)

“If you look at this world you’ll be distressed. If you look inward you’ll be depressed. If you look at God you’ll be at rest!” – unknown

Look to God, brothers and sisters, by allowing the cares and concerns of this world to fade away. Never forget where your help comes from; it comes solely from the Lord!

  1. Kelly Q. D.

It’s true nothing can compare to what God has done for us, but comparing it to things we understand is the best we can do! I had an uncle who was what I call a master Mechanic, and he could hear and look at a car, and know what needed to be done. Just like Jesus knows whats in our Hearts, he understood the inner workings of cars. Watching him work was truely amazing, and talking with him as he made what a thought was a disaster a simple ajustment or replacement unbelievable! One other thing he had in common with Jesus, no car ever left his shop until it was working the way it was made to work! So the parrable works…Amen.

very well said Kelly, thank you

That’s awesome Kelly! I would think that this analogy would hit home for you especially because of the recent car trouble that you’ve been having 🙂

though He slay me, yet I will trust Him.

…The path is narrow & sometimes may seem impossible, that’s only because God wants us to be positive we want to go this way! He knows the end from the beginning, he wants us to mature from the experience! Knowing that we are running the Race well is cause & encouragement to continue in the face of adversity! Amen, Thank You Lord for grace

My life fell completely apart in 2015
One minute I had a wife a nice home and my father was alive and we did a lot together
Then within the next few months my dad passed away and I ended up divorced and my home was gone
It brought me closer to God and gave me empathy for others who suffer in life

I put my trust in God. I took care of my Mom who passed after living with Alzheimer’s disease, I have taken care of my brother with schizophrenia for 20 years and now my sister has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and has to move back close to family but God…….
    He will see us through!

I have faith its so hard to hold on to that faith when you are the type of person that would help anyone. I took care of 3 dieing people ( rite in a row) 1 was my mom. Nothing has gone my way at all !!!! The more I do the worse it gets. I don’t get it. I was taught ask in Jesus name. Well I been asking and asking. It only gets worse. How can I hold on to my faith. How?? I don’t understand any more.
